Berlin
Super-sized schnitzel, oodles of atmosphere
It's Friday evening at Thomas-Eck - time to attempt the weekly 'XXL Schnitzel' challenge.
At just 7.95 € it's definitely a bargain, and since portions at this Charlottenburg inn always range from large to massive, even the heartiest eaters will struggle with the super-sized special.
Not XXL. Just the 'large' version.
Other foody events occur throughout the week (see details below), but Thomas-Eck is worth visiting any time for its generous helpings of decently priced German fare in a traditional neighbourhood setting.
Barmaids banter cheekily and the excellent selection of beers flows freely. Most importantly, it's always packed with locals, who obviously know a good thing when they see it.
Share a schnitzel, anyone?
